Our Story

The Birth of an Idea

Our Founder, Erin Ulcickas, dreamed up the idea of a platform where local artists work would be more visible to the people that could appreciate it. She believed she could create a space that united the young artists & makers in the Greater Sierra Nevada Region so they could collaborate with, learn from, and grow with each other. This idea blossomed into what is now High Vibe Society Artisan Collective: a multidisciplinary creative complex that empowers our local community through unconstrained expression and personal connection.

Our First Meeting

On this day, we had our first meeting of local artists at the old Tahoe Mountain Lab on Ski Run Blvd. There were 12 artists in attendance with more who promised they'd make it to our next one. This is where the idea of High Vibe Society was introduced to the community and was welcomed with open arms. Although still in the early phases, people were getting excited about the prospect of a community space that not only featured local artisans work but also showcased where and how they worked.

Our First Mixer

Sidellis Brewery graciously allowed us to hold our first artist and community mixer in their space. There were 27 people in attendance. This event provided the opportunity for local artists to discuss the need for our space within the community and the importance of arts & culture to our local economy.

Our friends over at Moonhouse Brewhouse held our first fundraising event. There were 48 people in attendance. The monies collected at this event went to the downpayment for our crowdfunding video, a campaign that will drop in the fall of 2016. High Vibe received coverage of this event from our friends at Local Freshies and the Lake Tahoe Art Scene.
